Food waste and visibility – let's have a look at it!

Visibility is a powerful tool in the fight against food waste — but are we using it to its full potential?
This one-day symposium invites researchers, policymakers, retailers, and consumer organizations to explore how making food waste visible can create social change in the fight against food waste. Drawing on examples from Danish and international research, we’ll examine how (in)visibility impacts action in households, retail, and food service, and how it intersects with social norms, education, and policy making. Through research presentations and stakeholder dialogues, we explore new opportunities to empower consumers, rethink the role of regulation, create economic incentives, and advance efforts to reduce food waste more effectively.
