Re-imagining Urban Futures

The future of urbanity demands innovative approaches to understanding and shaping the cities we live in. The Urban Solutions to Green Transitions Living Lab has dedicated its first years to researching exactly this. Now, its findings come to life in Reimagining Urban Futures, a two-part visual exhibition that invites you to explore approaches to urban sustainability.

The exhibition, drawn from the pilot projects “Planning for People, Place and Planet” and “Sustaining Publics”, presents insights and methodologies that bridge research with real-world urban challenges.

The vernissage

To kick off the exhibition, we will have a vernissage on the 23rd of April. At the vernissage, Mette Frimodt Møller will introduce the exhibition, and Mark Vacher and Natalie Gulsrud will share perspectives from their projects. Come enjoy a glass of wine or soda, explore the exhibition, and engage in meaningful conversations about how urban planning can embrace green transitions.

📅 Date: April 23rd at 16:00h
📍 Location: CPSC Foyer, University of Copenhagen (Bülowsvej 21a)

Curated by Carla Jiménez Puigdevall, Csilla Duray, and Lærke Sivkjær, the exhibition will remain on display until May 8th, before traveling Søndre Campus and finally Kildevæld Kulturcenter. See dates and locations below.

Exploring Urban Nature and Public Space

With Nordhavn as the focal point, the exhibition is divided into two distinct themes:

Meaningful Nature investigates how citizens interact with urban nature and highlights the importance of designing solutions that integrate ecosystems within the built environment.

Calls from the Public takes an ethnographic approach. Through a set of portraits, this exhibition invites reflection on our city experiences and how they can inform actionable design parameters for a more inclusive cityscape.

Both projects engage in futuring—a method of visually and conceptually reimagining better urban futures and green transitions. Through multidisciplinary collaboration and citizen engagement, the exhibition highlights the role of lived experiences in shaping sustainable cities.
