Kick-off meeting: GSC Thematic Network for Research-based Education in Sustainability & Planetary Health

The aim of the Thematic Network for Research-based Education in Sustainability & Planetary Health is to inspire and strengthen Planetary Health education across Faculties and Departments at the University of Copenhagen by building capacity and cross-disciplinary networks of teachers and educators.

We will provide a platform where researchers, teachers, course managers, and programme directors across UCPH departments and faculties who already teach within the area – or who has an interest in how to incorporate teaching and transformational education about and for sustainability and Planetary Health in their current courses or educational programmes – can seek inspiration or partners to create new educational activities or programmes within this scope.

The mission is to empower UCPH to embed sustainability and planetary health into education across all disciplines by fostering collaboration among educators, researchers, and departments. We aim to develop innovative teaching practices, share resources, and co-create curricula that prepare students and researchers to address global challenges and lead transformative changes for a healthy planet and society.

We will form a network of interested parties to meet regularly and exchange ideas and knowledge. We also aim to invite key stakeholders, i.e., the student organisations, as well as relevant experts from other Universities in Denmark or abroad who have experience implementing Planetary Health and sustainability in their education and curricula.

After the meeting, there will be a light lunch and opportunities to network.
